St. James, Wichita turns 100

St. James celebrated its 100th anniversary Sunday, November 14, 2022, with the Bishop’s visit and a champagne reception. Rev. Dawn crafted a Centennial Prayer which was printed on bookmarks for dispersal. An oil painting of the Te Deum window was commissioned, then prints and note cards of the painting were made available for purchase. Anne Clark created a “coffee table” type book to memorialize the 100 years of St. James, recognizing the history, building, priests, and many traditions.

At the Gardens of Bethany, many grains of wheat have fallen into the earth, thanks to the generosity of our donors. We are so grateful to all who have contributed and with great excitement, we now turn our attention to the next phase of making this vision a reality. We will hire a Garden and Sustainability Coordinator and interns who will care for them, and teach members of the diocese and our neighbors.
