Ordination Process

If you are interested in exploring a possible ordained vocation in the Episcopal Church as a member of the Diocese of Kansas, there are a number of steps that must take place, for those considering ordination as a deacon and for those considering ordination as a priest.

Note that each of the steps outlined here includes instructions, as well as links to forms you or someone else will need to complete and submit.

These forms are produced in PDF format with interactive fields, wherever possible. This means they can be completed by typing onto the form, then printing it and submitting it as directed. Be certain to keep a copy of all forms you submit, for your own files.

If you don’t already have Acrobat Reader, which is needed to view PDF documents, a free copy of it can be downloaded here.

If you have any questions about this process, please consult a member of the clergy in your parish first. Additional questions may be directed to the Rev. Andrew O’Connor, chair of the Commission on Ministry, by email or phone, (316) 721-8096.

An overview of the process
