The Commission for Church Architecture and Allied Arts exists to provide oversight to large projects (additions or renovations over $100,000.) Because our aging churches deal less with these aspects and more with deferred maintenance, this group acts as the Church Preservation Committee, serving as a resource panel or hands-on project assistance for repair or renovation projects approved by the committee. The group meets quarterly via Zoom. E-mail churchpreservation@gmail.com if you or anyone you know may be interested in being part of our team. Our group seeks the following:
- Volunteers for Grant Writing and Resourcing will train! Grant team members should have strong communication skills and be willing to work with each church vestry to research and apply for varying project grants. Volunteers in this category will work with the assistance of our existing committee grant advisor.
- Volunteers in any trade to act as resources to parishes. Your tasks may vary between hands-on volunteer work or coaching through a communications channel that offers determinations and project advice for church vestries (usually the Junior warden). Professionals or those proficient in
- DIY trades please contact us!
