As a way of inviting and welcoming the neighbors around the parish, Church of the Covenant in Junction City hosted a free event in October called Family Fest.
The event was designed for children and adults alike, featuring carnival games and prizes, a bouncy house, hot dogs, chips, and drinks and “fun food” including popcorn and cotton candy machines.

Especially popular among guests was the Tap Truck. The Tap Truck is a restored 1949 truck that has been outfitted with taps for local root beer, craft beer, and cider. Guests enjoyed the authentic root beer in root beer floats.
Family Fest, held in the Covenant parking lot, was very well attended. The street in front of the church was lined with cars and many neighbors stayed for the full-two hours of the party. All of the food, drinks, activities, and prizes at Family Fest were donated by friends, neighbors, and local businesses.
