Bishop Search Committee Invites Participation in Listening Sessions and Survey

Dear people of the Episcopal Diocese of Kansas, 

Greetings from the diocesan Search Committee for the XI Bishop of Kansas. We write with a few requests.

First, we ask for your presence and participation at one of the listening sessions being held within the diocese. The full schedule is listed below.

These will be important conversations designed to help the Search Committee and Council of Trustees better understand the characteristics and qualities desired in the next bishop. Note that these sessions will occur twice within each convocation using separate dates and locations.

In addition to those eight sessions, there will be two online offerings for those unable to attend a session in person, and a listening session for diocesan staff who serve on-site full-time. We will be following up shortly with information on listening sessions geared specifically toward our youth and campus ministries.

As you will see, we have set aside time at most of these sessions to hear from clergy. Priests of the diocese, please plan to start thirty minutes prior; deacons, expect to stay an additional thirty minutes.

Second, we ask everyone to complete a survey prepared in cooperation with Holy Cow Consulting by September 11 at 5 pm. We strongly encourage you to make use of this opportunity to share your insights with us. Please set aside one half-hour to take the survey.

If accessing the online survey is an issue, you can download a printable version and legibly fill it out by hand. Surveys filled out this way can be sent to the Search Committee in care of the diocesan mailing address by mail, or (preferred) scanned and emailed. Our goal is the highest possible participation.
