Bethany House & Garden Offers Weekly Services in St. Simon’s Chapel

In recognition of the increasing divisiveness and ‘noise’ in the world, Bethany House & Garden has begun offering two services weekly in St. Simon’s, the outdoor chapel, on the south side of Bethany House.

It is our intention that we offer a sacred space, where we can take a step away from the many voices that demand our attention, so that we can listen to the One voice of our faith. Especially in this time of anxiety and fear in our own nation, we want to offer a bit of space to engage with the Holy.

The services at St. Simon’s are offered on Tuesdays at 12:15 and Thursdays at 5:30.  Each services will last about 20 minutes, and include scripture, a silence and prayers for ourselves, our neighbors and our world. The Tuesday service will include Holy Communion.

We will invite prayers and intercessions from those who attend, either aloud or in the silence of the hearts that offer them.

And, because we hope to feed the body, as well as the spirit, we will offer a fresh-picked ‘something’ from our bountiful gardens at each service.

People do not need to be an Episcopalian to attend. Those of great faith, those of little faith, those who question their faith, and those who simply wonder — all are invited.
