Three additional nominees for Presiding Bishop have announced they will submit their name for the position via petition.

The three are:

The Rt. Rev. Stacy Sauls, Bishop of Lexington

The Rt. Rev. Francisco Duque-Gomez, Bishop of Colombia

The Rt. Rev. Charles Jenkins, Bishop of Louisiana

They join four nominees previously announced by the Joint Nominating Committee for the Election of the Presiding Bishop.

The nominees’ names will be formally submitted to the General Convention at a joint session on June 18, one day before the time appointed for the Presiding Bishop election by the House of Bishops.

The bishop elected will succeed the current Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Frank T. Griswold III, whose nine-year term concludes later this year.

The new Presiding Bishop will be installed Nov. 4 at Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

Biographical information on all the nominees is available from Episcopal News Service at http://www.episcopalchurch.org/3577_73061_ENG_HTM.htm.
